Music Theater Lab is a 13-week group program designed for students who are ready to strengthen their skills in singing, acting, movement, and performance while discovering the exciting world of musical theatre. Each week, students explore how music, acting, and choreography work together to tell compelling stories. Through vocal training, improvisation, scene study, character development, movement exercises, and ensemble rehearsals, students develop confidence, creativity, and strong performance skills in a supportive environment. Students will build healthy vocal technique, expressive acting, stage movement, choreography, script interpretation, and character development while working collaboratively with their peers. Every class encourages teamwork, artistic expression, problem-solving, and leadership while preparing students for live performance. Throughout the semester, students will: Develop healthy vocal technique and expressive singing Learn songs from age-appropriate musical theatre repertoire Build acting skills through improvisation and scene work Create believable characters and develop stage presence Learn choreography and performance movement Strengthen confidence, communication, and public speaking Improve teamwork and collaboration through ensemble work Develop creativity, discipline, and performance etiquette The semester concludes with a Mini Musical Theatre Performance in December, where students present songs, scenes, and choreography for family and friends while celebrating everything they have accomplished throughout the semester. Whether students are new to musical theatre or looking to expand their performing arts experience, Music Theater Lab provides a welcoming environment to grow as confident performers and creative artists.
