🎹 Piano Foundations: Beginner Keys (Ages 6–9) Ages: 6–9 Years Old Length: 13 Weeks Semester: September 11 – December 11, 2026 Class Length: 45 Minutes No Class: Thanksgiving Week (November 28–29, 2026) Minimum Enrollment: 4 students required to run the class. Our Piano Foundations: Beginner Keys class is a 13-week program consisting of 45-minute weekly lessons designed specifically for children ages 6–9 who are new to piano or have little to no previous musical experience. Students will develop a strong musical foundation while learning proper hand position, piano technique, note reading, rhythm, finger coordination, keyboard geography, and basic music theory. Through engaging activities, games, and fun repertoire, students will build confidence while learning to play familiar songs and developing essential musicianship skills in a supportive group environment. This class encourages creativity, active listening, teamwork, and consistent progress while helping students establish healthy practice habits and a lifelong love of music. After successfully completing the Level 1 Fall Session, students will have the opportunity to continue into the Level 2 Spring Session, where they will expand their reading skills, rhythms, technique, musical expression, and repertoire while continuing to grow in confidence and independence at the piano. Please note: There will be no class during Thanksgiving week. That week is not included in the 13-week program. Group classes do not offer makeup lessons for missed classes. All digital pianos are provided for use during class. Method books are provided during each class and remain at the academy. Families who would like to practice at home may purchase the same method book through the academy or on their own. Digital Piano Rental: Students who do not have a piano at home may rent a full-size digital piano from the academy for $65 per month, subject to availability. Classes will run with a minimum of 4 students. If enrollment is low, age groups may be combined based on age and skill level.
