Private Lesson Policies
Tuition & Enrollment
Private lesson tuition is billed monthly and is based on lesson length. Weekly private lessons require ongoing monthly enrollment, which supports consistency and steady progress. Monthly tuition is calculated based on the number of scheduled lessons in each calendar month and secures the student’s reserved weekly lesson time.
Lesson Rates
• 30-minute lesson: $63 per session
• 45-minute lesson: $94.50 per session
• 60-minute lesson: $126 per session
Registration & Recitals
A one-time registration fee of $35 is required upon enrollment. Music Love Academy hosts two recitals per year. Participation includes a $40 recital fee per recital. Details are shared in advance.
Attendance, Makeups & Online Lessons
Lessons take place at the scheduled time. Tuition secures the reserved time, not attendance.
• One makeup lesson per semester may be granted. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required in order to schedule a makeup lesson; otherwise, the lesson will not be eligible for makeup.
• All other absences are taught online at the scheduled lesson time.
• Lessons move online in cases of weather, instructor absence, or studio unavailability
MLA operates as a school, not a private studio. Teachers may be assigned, reassigned, or substituted based on availability and program needs.
All instructors are carefully selected, and any replacement will be qualified to continue the student’s progress. Enrollment is with the Academy, not a specific teacher; therefore, teacher changes do not qualify for refunds, credits, or trial lessons.
Termination
A 30-day written notice is required for any changes or withdrawal from private lessons. Tuition remains due during the notice period.
Summer Lessons
Summer scheduling is more flexible and is typically billed per lesson. Please read more below.
Group Lesson Policies
Enrollment & Tuition
Group class tuition is charged per program and must be paid in full at enrollment. Each program runs for a set number of weeks and is not billed per individual class.
Enrollment may be completed online.
Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable once the program begins.
Attendance
Because group instruction is collaborative, individual absences cannot be made up. Consistent attendance is essential for group progress.
Makeup Policy
Makeup lessons are not available for group classes.
The only exception is when a class is canceled due to weather or emergency conditions and cannot be taught online. In that case, the academy will reschedule the class.
Weather & Closures
Group classes may be moved online or rescheduled due to weather, instructor absence, or studio unavailability. Fairfax County Public Schools guidelines are followed for weather-related closures.
Studio Environment & Safety
For the safety of students and staff, video surveillance cameras are in use in studios and common areas.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged not to remain inside lesson rooms, as this may disrupt instruction. Parents may wait in the lobby or nearby within the shopping center or parking area.
Academic Calendar
Semesters
The Music Love Academy school year is divided into three instructional terms:
• Fall Semester: September – January
• Winter/Spring Semester: January – June
• Summer Semester: June – August
The academy observes
• One-week Spring Break
• Two-week Winter Break
• One-week summer closure at the end of August (dates announced in advance)
No lessons or tuition apply during scheduled closures.

If your child will not attend lessons during the summer:

A $300 reservation fee per student will hold your lesson time

Photography & Media
Music Love Academy may photograph or record lessons, classes, recitals, and events for educational and promotional purposes.
Families who prefer not to participate may submit a Photo & Video Opt-Out Waiver. If no waiver is submitted, permission is assumed. Security camera footage is used strictly for safety purposes.
Payment Methods & Processing Fees
Private Lesson Tuition
Private lesson tuition payments are accepted via Zelle, sent to @musicloveacademy, or by online credit card payment.
Zelle payments do not incur any processing fees. Online credit card payments are subject to a 2.99% processing fee.
Group Class Tuition
Group class tuition is charged per program and must be paid in full at enrollment.
